On September 13, 2025, Resurrection Church in Escondido, California, hosted a retreat with Archbishop Ramon C. Argüelles titled "Why Do I Love You Mary?" It took place at the home parish of Deacon Ed, a longtime friend of the True Life in God (TLIG) mission. The parish hall was packed, with about 70 participants, approximately 85% new people.
This is the same Archbishop Argüelles who granted the Imprimatur to the True Life in God messages in 2005 and again in 2021.
Deacon Ed, who has served as a deacon for nearly twenty years, said he had never heard anything like the Archbishop’s teaching on Our Mother Mary. The Archbishop stayed with him near the retreat venue. While staying there, the host witnessed his fervent prayer life—waking up three or four times each night to pray and continuing to pray throughout the day. He prayed the Rosary as soon as he and the driver got into the car. "He is tender, loving, and compassionate, and I will say he is a holy man of God," the host said.

During the retreat, the Archbishop introduced True Life in God to all participants and signed a number of True Life In God Introductory Volume books by hand. Mark Kliethermes from Kansas City, and Deacon Arthur helped hand out about 900 True Life in God books to attendees, who came from as far as Orange County and San Diego. During the same visit, the Archbishop also celebrated Masses in the Corona, Orange, and Los Angeles areas. He shared his teaching with cloistered nuns and gave short talks to lay parishioners.
The books have been reaching people in other settings too. With his pastor's permission, Deacon Ed spoke after Mass about Vassula's encounter with Jesus and offered the books to parishioners. He has also given copies to prayer groups in Winchester, Corona, and elsewhere in Southern California. He introduced Vassula and the books to the Knights of Columbus and to prayer groups in Escondido, where he serves as spiritual mentor.
Reports are coming in that lives are already being changed by reading the messages. Next month the books will be shared also with the Marines at Camp Pendleton.
Sharing these books at the retreat and across the surrounding communities helps bring the TLIG messages to many who are hungry to know Jesus and Mary and to grow in intimacy with the Triune God.
