Finding Solace and Strength in TLIG
in my daily trials
While Jesus’ Messages to Vassula are richly imbued with themes on Unity, and His deep Love for His children, particularly in these times, I often ask Jesus to take me to a passage in His Love Hymn to help me with a particular problem or a specific issue in order to find His Consolation and His Help for a particular problem or issue.
Within the opus of TLIG, I find very practical and spiritual personal Helps by our Lord, and our Blessed Mother, Mary, for many of the personal problems or issues I may face each and every day!
I would love to share the following passages in TLIG that have helped me throughout the years.
And of course, I continue reading the Messages in their entirety to give the following passages their true and proper context.
On those days when I have felt sad; I found this Message to be of particular consolation for me:
“today I am calling the sick telling them: My child, do not be depressed; I, your Holy Mother love you, but pray to the Lord and He will heal you; cleanse your heart from all impurities by repenting, then open your hearts to God and He will shower you with His Love; pray without cease;”
One day when I was particularly anxious, about a personal family matter, I found this passage that helped me immensely in finding peace:
“a soul that has surrendered his will to God’s Will does not worry, does not fear, and does not live in anxiety for come what may, that soul remains unworried and in tranquillity, accepting God’s decision, never losing his peace; but a person who is only concerned about his life and all material things of this earth, this soul will be continuously living in distress, fear, and worries and not until he gives himself to God’s Will, will he be able to live in peace and know God’s Will ”
The two Messages above, amongst many obviously, have offered me much needed consolation and solace.
Combined with the three prayers that Jesus asks us to pray daily, the additional prayers composed by our Lord throughout TLIG give me an immense feeling that God is truly with me, and that when I feel His love, and truly know that He is with me, I can be better equipped to, as Jesus says in the Scriptures, to take up my cross daily and follow Him.
Like many of those in our TLIG family, I truly appreciate God’s guidance and instruction in my day-to-day life.
Our Lord’s Love Hymn in TLIG has truly changed my life.
Working daily in a high-stress work environment, I have learned to manage some demanding workloads, but what about my daily personal challenges? Jesus has reminded me that all these trials too are for my benefit, as in this Message:
“without trials you will not grow; My affection for you is manifest, this is why Satan hates you all the more; even if you feel you are under a constant threat from My enemy, I am near you to support you; realise that I have made you to be a threat to him; anyone who snatches souls from him is a threat to him, this is one of the reasons why he never loses any occasion to aim at you; very often he uses people for his purpose, out of nothing at all he can produce an act of accusation to utterly ruin the one he wants to strike;
but this is not all; one of his most malicious acts is to suggest in the sleeping soul all sorts of ideas that lead the soul into an agitation and a total unrest, wrenching out all peace within that soul; this is why you must stay awake, do not let him find you sleeping;”
And again, this guidance by our Lord is buttressed in other Messages, like this one:
“My Power is at its best in weakness; trials you shall always have, but these are for your growth; I want you strong, I want you to be able to face difficulties with prudence; I want you to glorify Me;”
Too often, my job leads me to become overly rational in my thinking; while effective in work, this can get me into a bit of trouble in my personal day to day affairs. When this happens, I will often read and re-read, prayerfully, this Message:
“never give the devil a foothold by your rationalistic spirit; grow not on illusions, but let your foundation grow in My Spirit; build your edifice in My Holy Spirit in whom you will be renewed ...
bind yourself to Me so that you do not lose Me from your sight and dishonour yourself; obey My principles but with a heart and not a rock; resolve to do right for the rest of your life but with a taste of joy;”
Further, the solace and understanding that our Lord is truly in control of all situations, will often lend itself to me taking a bit of breather in life and patiently try to understand that I simply cannot, and should not, solve problems on my own. Our Lord reminds me time and time again in TLIG to invite Him into my heart and always walk with Him. He reminds me that He, as God obviously, measures all things:
“I am the Beginning and the End and everything is measured by Me;”
And that He is truly in control of all situations:
“My Heart rejoiced when I heard you say: “God is in control of everything, so do not despair!” yes! indeed I am in control of every situation; some souls might not think so when situations are turning against them for they imprudently rely on their strength and their victories”
“I Am in control of all situations! life and death, good and bad,”
These are just some of the Messages that helped me understand and feel God’s abundant love for me. Every day I thank our Lord for His awesome gift to us in our times, which, again, has truly changed my life!
Glory be to Jesus Christ and our Mama, the Blessed Virgin Mary!
