A Confirmation and a Gift
It was about 10 years ago, when I got into the habit of reading the TLIG messages line per line, one message each day, in chronological order. I would love to read after the morning Mass, as each message gave me a 'theme of the day'. Surprisingly (or rather it should come as no surprise at all) the message of the day, in a way, 'fit in', and synchronized with my daily events that followed. It's a joy and grace, as it helps me to feel that Jesus is truly present through each day’s different situations.
So, on that day, my daily message was the one dated July 25, 1989, where Jessus talks about how He placed Vassula in a country of His choice:
“I brought you to a fertile country to enjoy its produce and good things;”
This specific passage was very relevant and personal to me since I do not live in my country of origin, and so it was consoling to read these words from Jesus, at a time when my paperwork was still in progress.
The rest of the message was very beautiful, and I enjoyed reading it a lot. And by the end of it, Jesus says:
"lift your soul to Me and be one with Me; have My Peace; I bless you all and all that you have brought to be blessed, My Sigh is upon each icon and religious object;"
Somehow, at that very moment, I had a spontaneous response to Jesus in my heart, saying: "But Lord, I don't have any religious object with me now". Then, finishing reading the message, I closed the “TLIG Volume I” book, put it aside, and as I was about to start praying the rosary, a lady in her 70s came up to me. She said: "I do not know you, but somehow, I feel an urge to give you this. Please accept it, I'd be very happy to be able to give this to you". It was a beautiful religious bracelet, with pictures of Jesus in the 14 Stations of the Cross. It was so surprising to me, and I was a little bit hesitant to accept it, but this generous lady was able to convince me to take it. Now, I could offer this bracelet to be blessed by Jesus.
10 years after this event, I’m re-reading Jesus's words in His message from the same date, and it feels so very real:
“awake! beloved ones; I am your Saviour, the Crucified, your Redeemer; feel My Love…”
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ!
